Recently, Paul Emanuelli was featured in a CBC News article titled How the federal government can fast-track medical supplies in a crisis (March 18, 2020) by Elizabeth Thompson.
In the interview, Paul talks about the Emergency Procurement Rule, and how the government can bypass the normal tendering process in times of crisis. This rule can be used at any time, providing entities can prove that it is an emergency situation; however, the rule can still be subject to challenges by other suppliers and to review by public auditors.
